History of the Junior League of Schenectady and Saratoga Counties:
Founded in 1929, as the Junior Workers League, The name of the organization was changed to the Junior League of Schenectady in 1932 when it became incorporated and a member of The Association of Junior Leagues of America. In 2008 the organization expanded to include members from Saratoga County and was appropriately renamed The Junior League of Schenectady and Saratoga Counties. Throughout its 80 years of service the Junior League of Schenectady and Saratoga Counties has founded numerous organizations including Family and Child Service of Schenectady, Inc., Hospice and Project Safe and provided assistance to many others such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady County, the YWCA, the Red Cross and Ellis Hospital.
